Los Angeles will be the cultural capital of the millenium. This statement was recently made by LAs vice-president of cultural tourism who then went on to state that there are more majour musseums per head of population in LA than in other US city (300 to be precise), not to mention more artists, writers, film-maker, actors, dancers and musicians than in any other city in the history of civilisation. His conclusion? LA is the most fascinating cultural destiantion of America.

If LA can claim to be a cultural mecca, its because of the Getty Museum. This fine-art museum looks down from a Santa Monica hilltrop over the city, a monument to culture.
Three milion people visited the Getty in its first year.

The J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center in Los Angeles houses European paintings, drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, decorative arts, and European and American photographs. The Villa houses approximately 44,000 works of art from the Museums extensive collection of Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities, of which over 1,200 are on view.
They come in the same coaches that take them to Disneyland and Beverly Hills.
Almost immediately it has become part of the LA tour-an art museum that rivals Universal Studios, Hollywood and the Baywatch beaches.

With an area of 1510 km the Masai Mara is not the largest game park in Kenya, but it is probably the most famous. Every year when the rainy season id over in May, hundreds of thousands of animals mass together, exploring greener vegetation and vital sustenance from the Serengeti in Tanzania north to the wide-open grasslands of Kenya’s Masai Mara, where they arrive in July and August.

The Masai Mara has a widespread reputation for its lions. The population of black rhinoceros is severely vulnerable, with a population of only 37 recorded in 2000. Hippopotami are living in large groups in the Masai Mara and Talek Rivers. Cheetah are also to be found, although their numbers are also threatened, chiefly due to tourist disruption of their day-time hunting.
